History of Alkyd Resins

The first alkyd was developed in 1920 by R. H. Kienle of GE. Then it was patented in 1927. However, in 1937 the patent was not valid because it prioritized art. Talking about the history of alkyd resins, of course, it cannot be separated from the knowledge of polymers and the history of paints. In 1926, DuPont, a chemical manufacturing company, began to introduce this resins. Alkyd resins used to be widely used for car coating oil paints and home paints.
